Usually filled with a yellow, viscous fluid, sinus cysts can form in the paranasal sinuses of younger horses. Although unknown, a dental origin has been implicated. The cysts enlarge and the resulting pressure causes facial and nasal distortion, leading to dyspnea and nasal discharge.
